How we choose which caregiver comes to your mother's house

Most agencies fill a shift from a roster: whoever is available and closest. It is efficient and it is why your mother explains her routine to a new face every week. We do it differently, and it takes longer.

What we match on

  • The care needed, obviously: dementia experience, transfers, nursing tasks.
  • Language. Edmonton is a city of first languages, and a caregiver who speaks Ukrainian or Punjabi or Tagalog with a client who is returning to their first language is a different quality of care.
  • Temperament. Some clients want a chatty caregiver; some want quiet competence.
  • The schedule. A sundowning client needs someone who can commit to late afternoons every week.

The introduction

The care manager brings the caregiver to meet your parent before the first shift, with you there if you can be. Names, a cup of tea, the routine walked through. Nobody arrives cold.

If it is not a fit

Tell us. We rematch, at no cost, without an argument. It happens, and it is not a failure on anyone’s part.

A care manager comes to the house, looks at the real situation, and gives you a written plan and a weekly cost. It is free, it takes about an hour, and there is nothing to sign.
