Medical appointments are where a lot of care quietly falls apart. The specialist is across the city, parking is a nightmare, and your father comes home unable to say what was decided.
What our caregivers do
- Drive, or accompany on DATS if that is arranged.
- Bring the medication list and the list of questions you wrote down.
- Sit in on the appointment if your parent agrees, and take notes.
- Pick up the prescription on the way home.
- Send you a short summary the same day.
Why it matters
Doctors make decisions on the information in front of them. A patient who cannot remember what they take, or who says they are fine because they are embarrassed, gets worse care. A caregiver who knows the routine is a better historian than a worried relative who was not there on Tuesday.
